The pencil drawer can be converted to a keyboard drawer. The top two drawers in the row of three are utility drawers, one with dividers for small office suppliers like staplers. The bottom drawer adjacent to the pencil drawer is a lockable vertical file for your very important documents. The desk is made of cherry/elm wood solids, a combination of cherry and elm; and cherry veneers, a thin layer of cherry attached to a stronger "mixed" piece of wood for strength and durability.
